Why working with streamers such as Mr Gamble is important

What benefits do you receive from having your games streamed live?

Streaming platforms such as Twitch and YouTube have allowed us to get so much closer to the players that experience our games. We really appreciate the engagement that streamers offer for fans of our slots. Personally, I think live streams have really elevated the online gaming experience and brought the whole community even closer. Players are far more educated now on the studios who create their favourite games.

Traditionally, it’s been the casinos themselves driving the marketing around new releases, but the popularity of streams has led to studios such as SG Digital to ramp up their own activity to ensure their latest games are being showcased with the biggest streamers. That’s created additional opportunities for us to bridge the gap between us and the end user.

How does SG Digital choose which online streamers to work with?

As a company that is committed to responsible gambling but also recognises the unique benefits of collaborations with streamers, we are committed to working only with real-money streamers that pledge themselves to just and responsible causes, while delivering a message that stands in line with our brand’s image. You can see, one of the streamers we have worked with Mr Gamble is passionate about games, which means our games are brough to life and viewers can share in the excitement of playing games. That is why we work alongside streamers such as Mr Gamble, who are clearly passionate about online slots. This ensures our own games are brought to life and viewers can share the excitement of what these slots have to offer.

There are plenty of streamers who genuinely love entertaining their audiences, who are players at heart and comply with regulations, and also have the decency to make responsible decisions when it comes to the content they promote to their viewers. We have no interest in collaborating with fake streamers who tarnish the industry’s image and reputation.

Once you’ve identified a streamer to collaborate with, what are the next steps? Is it a case of simply ensuring your games are being profiled for a specific time frame?

We’ve learned very quickly that simply offering a game to play isn’t enough to make a session interesting. There are plenty of streams online for players to view, but the best options are devised by those who have been creative in their approach. That means thinking of ways to engage directly with players, whether it’s offering prizes or running tournaments that captures an audience’s attention. The team at Mr Gamble have been great in working with us to understand what their audience like and what they don’t like, and together we’ve planned the games we have streamed and the prizes.

We recently held a tournament between two different streamers that focused on our flagship game of the year, Invaders Megaways™. The streamer who achieved the highest X win was crowned the winner. The promotion was a great success and an initiative that we’re looking to replicate for future releases too. We could measure the increased exposure the game received through the stream, as well as analyse the feedback that viewers were supplying within the comment section.

For a game studio, how important is it for streamer to trigger a title’s key features? Are there ways in which you can ensure this happens on a stream?

We never change the game mechanics specifically for an online stream. It’s the same real-money game that players experience themselves. Obviously there’s a chance that a session might include limited feature triggers, but on the other hand we maybe fortunate that a streamer enjoys a rich experience where lots of impressive wins are achieved.

We are looking to introduce more “bypass” features into our games, designed to allow streamers and players with a direct route to a bonus round in a responsible way. Most streamers are keen to activate a bonus feature in the base gameplay, but this tool allows them a quick route to showcase the best elements of what a game has to offer.

From a content perspective, what exciting new games can we expect from SG for the rest of the year?

There’s plenty more to come from SG Digital before the year ends! Fans of our iconic Rainbow Riches franchise are in for a treat as we have no less than three new instalments being released that feature everyone’s favourite leprechaun.

Rainbow Riches Power Mix is a four-reel variant of the classic game, allowing players to select which bonus rounds they can play for, with the option of going all in and playing on four game fields at the same time. We also have an instant win style game called Rainbow Riches Cash Cluster. This is a classic symbol matching game where players are awarded a number of spins to fill the tiered prize totalisers.

Finally, we’re launching a non-Mega Drop version of Rainbow Riches Pots of Gold. The original was first released last year and proved to be a huge success.
